A single chain magnet involving hexacyanoosmate

As the result of international collaboration the article of NIIC researches Eugenia V. Peresypkina and Kira E. Vostrikova is published in Chemical Communications (IF 6.378).

The first single chain magnet (SCM) based on orbitally degenerate hexacyanoosmate(III) was prepared. The high values of energy barriers for the [Mn(acacen)Os(CN)6]2− complex of 81 and 48.4 K are the result of interplay of three axis anisotropic coupling of [Os(CN)6]3− with zero field split Mn3+.
